Barbie® My House

I bought this house for my 6 year old daughter. We were disappointed to find that the sections do not stand up well on their own on carpeting. You must lean the kitchen and bathroom sections against something thus losing the ability to utilize the back side of the sections.

I bought it as a gift, and the four year old liked it a lot.

My daughter got this for Christmas. It was pretty simple to assemble. It does not seem to be made well, but you cant complain since we only paid $20 for it. I think it will last a good length of time. We are thinking of buying our other 2 daughters one so they can visit with eachother. I do think this house is a good choice if you don't want to buy one of this big ones due to space or how well your children take care of things. It is cute and my girls love it. It doesn't come with much. If you buy the furniture sets, the house looks more realistic.

I was originally looking a the Barbie Dream House (until I saw the price!). I saw this and figured "what the heck - for this price I can't go wrong". My 8 year old daughter opened it for Christmas and I think I was as excited as she was! She gets easily bored with toys that do the same thing over and over again so this is awesome for her. Each section can be turned around to use as a different room - and you can set up each room whatever way you want. Of course it's plastic but it looks like it will hold up really well. The colors and design are very pretty and the washer and dryer spin around!! Plus you can buy additions. Dream What?! "We'll" be playing with this for a long time! :)

For those of us who really can't afford the Barbie Dream House, this is a wonderful alternative. There is a bit of assembly upfront (mostly stickers) but it's worth it. This base set has 5 optional rooms, furniture and accessories (plates, kitchen supplies, etc.). It has manipulable parts that allow the Barbies to actually interact with the equipment in the rooms. The parts are WICKED small and there is no storage for them unless you just shut them up in the house when it folds up. Not a very secure system, but we found a zip bag to put them in. The expansion sets give even more varied options for play. Excellent toy.
